     Snakehead are apex predator in Lakes of Taiwan, the way of them hunting makes the snakehead fishing chilling and exciting at the same time, there are four lakes in Taiwan are their mainly habitats, all these lakes are basically locates in south Taiwan.

The main season of Snakehead fishing starts from May to September, and there will be some differences of their habits in different months, let's start with the way of catching them in May and September, in these period snakehead are usually stay in the area with abundant structures, more messy more chance they are hiding, which is shown in the video footage below, in this case, soft bait lure fishing would be much easier than fly fishing in such a enviroment.

June to August

    Next is the main season of Snakehead fishing, from June to August is the most active period of Snakehead, during these months there will be schools of snakehead fry appearing in the lake, when they shows up, which means their huge parents are around by their side to protect them and attack anything invade to their territory, so it would be a great chance for anglers to catch Snakehead in a great size from 25 to over 40 inches.
